THE MR LEATHER UK GOVERNANCE BOARD
The Governance Board comprises of representatives from various UK Leathermens’ organisations and oversees the title Mr Leather UK. The members of the Governance board will expected to, as far as practicable, represent their respective members or customers in matters relating to the Mr Leather UK title, its contest and the title holder to ensure the title and competition reflect the UK’s leather community.
The Governance Board is advisory and not operational. Responsibilities for the organisation and running of the annual competition and election of Mr Leather UK is granted to a Host Organisation and are supported by the Board to ensure there is consistency between competitions and standards are maintained.
PURPOSE
To safeguard the integrity, standards and values of the Mr Leather UK name and competition.
To award hosting and operating rights to a nominated regional organisation.
To oversee the operation and hosting of the competition by regional organisations.
To publish operational guidelines including judging frameworks, eligibility criteria, roles and responsibilities.
To engage with companies and organisations to raise the profile of the title and title contest.
To engage with companies and organisations to raise sponsorship for the title holder’s travel and title contest event.
